Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Street Tacos & Chipotle Lime Sauce | How to Make Pulled Pork NO JOKE. These are THE best street tacos I have EVER HAD! I’m not trying to be braggy. In my defense the flavor combination was NOT my idea. I had these pulled pork street tacos at a friend’s house one day and I fell in love with the flavor combination! The Mexican spiced pork combined with a small dab of BBQ sauce drizzled with a homemade chipotle lime sauce and topped off with some crunchy crisp red cabbage. I just drooled on my keyboard. I know the flavor combination may sound strange but it is actual heaven! Shout out to the Smith family for this wonderful idea. I do not have their exact recipe, so this is my rendition of it. To be honest, it tastes pretty bomb if I do say so myself! LOL I know you will all love this for its amazing taste and how easy it is! Thank you so much for watching! P.S. If you are wondering why I look different in the second clip, my husband and I went for a 16 mile bike ride while the pork was in the slow cooker. Needless to say I was a sweaty mess when I got home and HAD to shower before showing my mug on camera. They all seemed to boil the crap outta my food! This slow cooker has been a life saver for me. It has the option for low, medium, and high heat setting along with a programmable timer. They did send this to me for free but I would never tell you guys to get something I don’t absolutely love. It’s very affordable and cooks my food beautifully! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Ingredients | Pork: 3-4 Pound Pork Butt/ Pork Shoulder (Fat Trimmed) 1 Orange 1 Lime 2 Bay Leaves 1 Cup Water 4-6 Cloves Garlic, Minced 1 Large Onion, Chopped 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder 1 Tablespoon Ground Cumin 1 Teaspoon Paprika 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder Salt & Pepper to Taste Chipotle Lime Sauce: ½ Cup Sour Cream ¼ Cup Mayo 2-3 Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce 1-2 Cloves Garlic 1 Lime, Juiced ¼ Cup Parsley or Cilantro ½ Teaspoon Chili Powder ½ Teaspoon Ground Cumin ½ Teaspoon Onion Powder Salt & Pepper to Taste Fixings: 6” Flour Tortilla Shells BBQ Sauce of your choice Shredded Lettuce Shredded Red Cabbage (It’s clearly Fresh Cilantro or Parsley | Directions | Pork: Cut pork but in half and place in a slow cooker. Season liberally with salt and pepper. Scatter diced onion around the pork along with the minced garlic. Juice the lime and orange and combine it with the water and seasonings. Mix. Pour the spice mixture over the pork butt. Place on the lid and cook on high for 4-6 hours or low for 6-9 hours. *The cooking time all depends on how big the meat is, how hot your slow cooker runs, and how much fatty tissue the meat has. Cook until it falls apart and easily tears apart using two forks. You could easily leave this to cook on low for 12 hours. The longer you cook it the more tender it becomes. Once fully cooked and tender, remove the bay leaves and any bones. Place meat on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, using a slotted spoon to drain the excess liquids. Using two forks, shred apart the meat. (Be careful not to rip the foil or else you’ll be eating it) Place the meat in a hot oven and broil for 4-5 minutes or until edges are golden. (Don’t walk away from the oven when broiling!) Chipotle Lime Sauce: In a blender or food processor, blend sour cream, mayo, lime juice, chipotle peppers, seasonings, parsley, salt and pepper until smooth and creamy. Assembly: This is the order we like to make our carnitas: Flour Tortilla ,Line of BBQ Sauce, Shredded Pork, Chipotle Lime Sauce, Shredded Lettuce, Shredded Cabbage, Parsley. Enjoy!!!!
